National Crochet Month

National Crochet Month
National Crochet Month

National Crochet MonthMay I have your attention Crochet Artists! Thank You! There is no better time to let others know how much you love to crochet than during National Crochet Month.

Countless crochet groups, popular retailers, yarn shops, and members of CGOA (Crochet Guild of America) are chatting about this timeless art. WOW! Now I want to climb on my rooftop and shout “I Love to Crochet”. OK, maybe that is a little extreme, so I will share with you how I am spreading the news.

Teaching: I taught beginning crochet for several years, which was personally rewarding. Last year I tried to teach my mother and lets just say she would rather read a book (and it’s not a crochet book). LOL However, I received an email from a friend asking me to teach her. Need I tell you what my answer was? ;o) If you would like to teach someone, the Craft Yarn Council has a helpful teaching guide. Click Here > Crochet Guide

Write a blog post: Last week I searched Handmade Artists for crochet artists and found enough artists to write a weekly blog post for more than one year. However, there is only 31 days in March… I better get started. LOL My first post is up – Celebrating National Crochet Month

Crochet Baby Hats

Crochet for Charity: I belong to a charity group that crochets needed items for hospitals and women’s shelters. You can find all sorts of charities that need crochet hats, scarves, blankets…etc. Amy Solovay from About.com has a list of charities for your convenience. These are a few ways to share your love for the art of crochet. Please leave a comment below and share how you are celebrating National Crochet Month.

Happy Crocheting, Cari
